Author Guidelines
The Journal welcomes contributions in Italian and English. Submission and publication are free of charge.
How to submit
Please submit manuscripts in Word (.docx) or OpenDocument (.odt) format to direzione.giureta@gmail.com, indicating the section to which the contribution is submitted. By submitting a manuscript, authors agree to comply with the Code of Ethics and with the terms of the Open Access and Copyright policy.
Articles and Notes
- The author’s name must be followed by an asterisked footnote stating the author’s academic or professional position and institutional affiliation.
- The text must be preceded by a table of contents (Sommario) listing its numbered sections.
- The text must be followed by abstracts in both Italian and English, together with keywords in both languages.
- Beginning with Volume XXV (2027), authors must also provide an English translation of the title; for contributions written in English, an Italian title is optional.
- Contributions based on empirical research, personal data or unpublished court or administrative decisions must follow the guidance on empirical research and ethical approval, including the anonymisation of decisions where required by Italian data protection law.
- Footnotes must comply with the Journal’s citation rules, set out in the Criteri redazionali (available in Italian). The Journal should be cited as Riv. dir. econ. trasp. amb.
Papers Beginning with Volume XXV (2027)
- Scope. Short contributions on current issues within the Journal’s fields: legislation, case law, proposals under discussion. Book reviews and papers presented at conferences, seminars and book presentations are also published as Papers.
- Length. Normally between 5,000 and 20,000 characters, including spaces. Book reviews may be shorter; conference papers may exceed the limit with the consent of the Editorial Board.
- Footnotes. Papers have no footnotes, except the author’s note on position and affiliation. A conference paper containing footnotes does not qualify as a Paper; it may instead be submitted as an Article and will be subject to peer review.
- Sources. Essential references are given briefly in the text (act, number, date). An optional final list headed «Essential Sources», with no more than ten entries, may follow the text.
- Structure. No abstract and no table of contents; the text may be divided into short parts with unnumbered headings. Conference papers state the occasion in the author’s note. Several papers from the same event may be published together as a single multi-author Paper.
- Title and keywords. Title in the original language and in English; three to six keywords in Italian and English.
- Replies. A Paper may respond to another Paper or to a contribution previously published in the Journal. The contribution to which it responds must be identified beneath the title.
- Timing. The Editorial Board normally decides within fifteen days of receipt; accepted Papers are published in the current volume.
Book reviews
For book reviews, the title should identify the author or editor of the reviewed work, its title, place of publication, publisher, and year of publication. The title of the reviewed work and the place of publication must remain in their original language.
